You need macros in order to function.
First things first, it’s important to understand what macros actually are.
Macros are macronutrients. Your body needs these nutrients in larger amounts in order to function properly, as macro means large.
In addition, all of these nutrients provide your body with energy measured in the form of calories or kcals.
There are three types of macronutrients: carbohydrates, proteins, and fats.
Use a simple macros calculator
The easiest way to calculate the macros you need to lose weight is by using a quick calculator.
Here is one we recommend:
Simply divide each calorie quantity by total calories (90) and multiply by 100 to get the macro ratio percentage for each.
Note that this percentage is not the same as the % daily figure on the label, which considers your overall daily requirements.
Does counting macros work?
Absolutely. Weight loss can be achieved by counting macros.
You can feel fuller on diet, retain more muscle while losing weight, and have more energy during workouts when you choose your macro targets for fat loss.
It is a good way to manage your treats as well.
