If you live in Westwood and you’re finally ready to commit to a gym (or just switch things up), good news! There are some great options in the neighborhood.
Whether you’re into personal training, group classes, climbing walls, or just doing your own thing on the treadmill, there’s a spot for you.
Now, fair warning: we’re biased. The Training Loft is our baby, so of course we’re putting ourselves at the top of the list.
But we’re not just here to toot our own horn… we actually want you to find the kind of workout experience that works for you.
So if what we do isn’t your thing (no hard feelings), we’ve rounded up a few other best gyms in Westwood that we genuinely think are worth checking out.
Website: traininglofts.com
Let’s be honest, this list wouldn’t exist if we didn’t believe we were the best gym in Westwood.
But we’re not trying to be everything to everyone. What we offer is different: private and semi-private training in a space that’s focused, calm, and zero fluff. No crowded weight floors. No waiting for machines. Just 30-minute workouts that are built around your goals, your schedule, and your lifestyle.
We use our own system (we call it the KALEN system) that’s designed to hit all the angles, mindset, movement, nutrition, and recovery. We cap our sessions at three clients max, so you’re never lost in a sea of bodies or left wondering if you’re doing something wrong. It’s personal. It’s structured. And it works.
If you want accountability, real coaching, and a plan that actually fits into your life, come see us! Simply book a quick online discovery call to get started.

If luxury is your thing, Equinox is hard to beat.
The Westwood location has all the bells and whistles: sparkling locker rooms, eucalyptus towels, boutique fitness classes, and even a pool. It’s got that high-end feel, which you’ll definitely see reflected in the price tag.
That said, you get a lot for what you pay. It’s a solid all-in-one experience where you can do strength training, hop into a yoga class, grab a smoothie, and maybe even squeeze in a steam room session before heading to work. It’s not as personalized as a training studio, but if you’re motivated and like the social vibe, it might be a great fit.
Website: lafitness.com
This is your classic big gym. LA Fitness has been around forever and delivers on the basics: cardio machines, free weights, group fitness classes, and plenty of space. The Westwood location is convenient and open long hours, which is a plus if you’re squeezing in workouts early or late.
It’s not fancy, and it’s definitely more self-directed, but it gets the job done. If you just want a gym with lots of equipment, flexibility, and a straightforward membership, this is a solid choice.

If traditional gyms aren’t really your thing and you’d rather climb a wall than run on a treadmill, check out Sender One. This place is focused on bouldering, so it’s all about problem-solving, movement, and strength in a way that doesn’t feel like a workout (even though it totally is).
They also offer yoga and general fitness classes, and it’s got a great community feel. Sender One is newer to the Westwood scene, but it’s already a go-to spot for folks who want something different, social, and a little more adventurous.
Obviously, we think The Training Loft is the best gym in Westwood—because we built it to be exactly what we felt was missing.
But we know that fitness isn’t one-size-fits-all.
If you want luxe amenities, go Equinox.
If you want a big gym with options, LA Fitness is a good bet.
And if you want to climb, stretch, and try something totally new, Sender One is worth a look.
Whatever you choose, just pick a place where you actually want to show up.
That’s the secret.
And hey, if you’re curious about The Training Loft, come by. No pressure, no pushy sales stuff. Just a real conversation about what you’re trying to accomplish and how we can help.
